I was born to create. That’s the only way I can describe what I do and how I approach my art. Creating things that people can enjoy o sometimes things they won’t like at all, but are things I find funny or entertaining, is really what I’m all about. I love to paint, draw, etc., but I also love to make music, put on strange productions and in the process try to show people things in a different light. But, as much as I was destined to be an artist, I am also a born performer. To me, being an artist IS being a performer. Artists are generally the misfits and outcasts of society, but they are often looked upon as magicians or superheroes because they seem to create things out of thin air. To the general public we are strange and not always to be trusted. So enjoy the many different paintings, drawings, music, and stage productions… or don’t. It really makes no difference to me. I shall be creating things till the day I die.
Kevin Stark
Born and raised in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Kevin Stark has been an artist his whole life. From the time he could hold a pencil he was constantly drawing, and at the age of fifteen he was hired by an ad agency to be their full-time artist. While still a teenager, Stark worked in the commercial art field providing designs for in-store displays for chains of variety stores.
While studying at the University of Oklahoma, Stark shifted his focus from commercial art to fine art and portraiture. After leaving school, he became a cartoonist, writer, photographer, sculptor, musician, songwriter, and toy designer. Stark continues to work freelance for toy companies around the world and has also done work for movie and television studios.
