The inspirations for my abstracted realism paintings come from nature; beautiful landscapes, the clouds in the sky, roaring oceans, peaceful mountains, fragrant flowers, colorful birds and winding pathways. Paths are so mysterious, you start down one in life or in a painting and you are never quite sure where the path will take you.
I work in alcohol inks, watercolor, acrylic and brusho paints. Each has its own joy and mystery. Alcohol inks are so full of color; they dance and merge on your painting surfaces and often have a mind of their own, taking you down unexpected paths. Watercolor is timid, often quite relaxing. Acrylic is very forgiving and can be bold or pastel. Brusho is also bold and colorful, not forgiving, so you better have your ideas in place because you won’t get a second chance.
Each person sees something a little different in a painting. I hope my paintings will take you on a journey and inspire you to enjoy the beautiful things that God put on this earth and remember to stop and smell the roses.
