Most successful men and women have commonalities. First, they follow their dream as if there were no limits. They believe in their core focus and know they can achieve it. They detail their goals often through brainstorming with associates, helpers, employees, or friends who have a proven success record in their area of interest. Successful men and women don’t expect to be the most intelligent person in the room.
Who could you trust? A person wanting to lose weight would not follow the diet plan designed by an obese person. A person may be personable or intelligent and yet lack credibility in his or her advice because of no education or experience in that area.
I emphasize, in my classes, the importance of surrounding themselves with men and women who are more knowledgeable in all areas of their genre than they are. Leaders must be intelligent. However, they must overcome the occasional superior feeling they have by acting as if they do not need a sounding board for their ideas or advise. Be selective in choosing your teammates.
After accumulating the crew of like-minded, qualified men and women, the next step is to believe in the project, focus, or goal. Visualize the success of the project and create a burning desire to make it work.
